CHIEF'S DESK
On behalf of the Fort Myers Shores Fire Department I would like to
welcome you to our website. Our website is a work in progress so
please check back frequently for updates.
As your Fire Chief, I am honored to serve the community in which we
all live. I am in my 30th year serving the residents of Fort Myers
Shores and Lee County. I was promoted to Fire Chief in October of
2007.
The last four years have been challenging due to the economic down
turn. We have lost approximately 37 % of our budget over the last
four years. I am proud to say that in this time we have not lost any
jobs or cut any services. This is due to our Firefighters, Elected
Fire Commissioners, and Management working together for the common
good of the department and the community.
As the economy becomes more stable, there are plans to build another
fire station at River Hall to better serve our residents on the
Eastern end of our district. The property for the new station was
purchased in 2006.
One thing I would like to make clear to all of our residents; this
is your fire department, feel free to stop by or call with any
questions you might have about our services, or stop by just to
visit and look around.
Our motto is “Safety and Service Beyond Expectation.” Our commitment
is to provide the district with the highest quality service while
being good stewards of taxpayers' money.
